A facial after a steam works better than a facial on its own, and this is the home version of that sequence.

The sauna blanket runs 600W of far infrared anywhere from 25 to 80 degrees for twenty to forty minutes. Circulation rises, the body warms, and the skin afterwards is receptive in a way it is not at the start of an evening.

Then the mask, ten minutes of red, near-infrared, yellow and blue across 240 LEDs, followed by two or three minutes with the wand around the eyes and along the jaw.

An hour, start to finish, and the only part that asks anything of you is the last three minutes.

Treatment Guidelines

Blanket first. Twenty to forty minutes at 55 to 70 degrees, water beside you, towel or cotton insert underneath. Start at the lower end in the first week.

Shower afterwards and let your temperature come down for a few minutes.

Clean, dry face. Mask for ten minutes, eyes closed. Then two to three minutes with the wand around the eyes, along the jaw and either side of the mouth. Slow circles, light pressure.

Serum and moisturiser last, onto warm skin.

Blanket two or three times a week. Mask and wand five nights, with or without the sauna.

Do not use the blanket straight after a heavy meal or alcohol. If you are pregnant or have a cardiovascular condition, speak to your doctor first.

Does the order matter?

Yes. Sauna first, then the face. Warm skin after a session takes the light and the products better than cold skin at the start of an evening.

How long is the whole thing?

About an hour including the shower. The mask and wand on their own are thirteen minutes, which is the version for a normal weeknight.

Do I need to do all three every time?

No. The blanket is two or three times a week, the mask and wand five nights. The full sequence is the weekend version.

Should I apply skincare before the mask?

Afterwards, always. Anything on the skin sits between the LEDs and the surface and blocks most of the dose.

Is there anyone who should not use the blanket?

Speak to your doctor first if you are pregnant, have a cardiovascular condition, or any condition affecting how you regulate temperature. Not straight after a heavy meal or alcohol.
